Email of the day on Japanese index constituents

Could you please update the Japanese Nikkei constituents, as you can see from this chart it has not traded for a long time. Thank you

Eoin Treacy's view

Thank you for alerting us to the merger of Japan Steel and Sumitomo Metal Industries. This acquisition is now reflected in the title of Japan Steel and Sumitomo Metal Industries has been removed. We have also updated the constituents of the Nikkei-225.

I found it interesting that while Unicharm is one of the best performing Japanese shares and has been a member of the S&P Pan Asia Dividend Aristocrats for a number of years, it is no longer in the Nikkei-225. It is contained in the JPX-Nikkei Index 400 which has an ROE qualification for membership and is growing in popularity as a benchmark.
