Eoin's personal portfolio:
gold, oil longs initiated, Dow Jones and Nasdaq shorts opened
Eoin Treacy's view The violent repression of popular
protest in Libya and the potential for a more prolonged conflict have raised
anxiety levels among investors. Against this background, a number of stock market
indices are overextended and I believe the risk of a reversion towards the mean,
represented by the 200-day MA, currently outweighs potential for significant
additional upside.
I shorted
the Dow Jones Industrials Average June
contract at 12,230 and the March Nasdaq-100
contract at 2365.1.
I opened
a long position in gold at $1402.40
for an April contract and in WTI crude
at $95.395 for the May contract. All prices quoted include spread-bet dealing
costs.
