More on statins
“Re Statins: I am age 71. I had a heart attack in December 2010 (I had high cholesterol before the attack) and I have been takings statins ever since (now generic Lipitor). Recently, on my Dr's advice, I have added Zetia to lower my cholesterol even further. My cholesterol is now very low (within recommended limits). And I have no side effects (I am tested for side effects frequently). I think that statins are a miracle drug similar to aspirin.”

David Fuller's view Thanks for your comments on this important subject.

Statins are a “miracle drug similar to aspirin”, but they are also a heavy medicine, unlike aspirin. However, everyone's reaction to them is different, as I have said before. My older brother has been on statins longer than I was. He has been able to tolerate them quite successfully and remains active. I am delighted that your experience with statins has been so successful.

Live long and prosper!
