2014 Was the Hottest Year on Record

Here is the preceding comment for this informative, extremely brief visual display on climate change from Bloomberg:

Deny this. The animation below shows the Earth’s warming climate, recorded in monthly measurements from land and sea over 135 years. Temperatures are displayed in degrees above or below the 20th-century average. Thirteen of the 14 hottest years are in the 21st century.

From a selfish perspective, I am enjoy what is the second consecutive winter in South Kensington without any snow or ice.  I recall plenty of cold weather up until the 1980s when winters then became gradually warmer.  I count my blessings.  Unfortunately, low lying costal regions are vulnerable.
