My personal portfolio

A medium term trade increased; a trading stop triggered, and another futures contract rolled forward

David Fuller's view

It has been a tough year, as you may have noticed.

On the evening of 29th Dec, my long in China H-Shares expired at 9808 for the Dec contract, against my purchases at 10166.6 on 27th Nov, and as this was on simultaneous rollover, I purchased Jan positions at 9839.6.  The frequency of contract rollovers in China H-Shares is expensive and I am only retaining this position because despite all the uncertainty, it is comparatively cheap at a p/e of 7.16 and yield of 4.08.

On 30th Dec, my long in the German DAX Index was stopped out at 10765 this morning for the Dec contract, against my purchase at 10759.8 on 18th Dec.  I repurchased DAX this evening, paying 10716.3 for the Mar contract.

A bid order was reached today when Glencore PLC weakened, enabling me to purchase another and also larger position in the June contract at 90.44p.  So far, my bids under the market in this speculative position are progressively larger.
