on Bank of Ireland:
"Since reading that you had made an investment in the Bank of Ireland, I have been tracking its progress, and have been amazed at the yield quoted for this share. Today's Daily Telegraph gives it as 36.7%. This surely can't be correct?

"Thanks in advance for your reply."

Eoin Treacy's view Thank you for this question which others may also have an interest in. Bank of Ireland suspended its dividend in November 2009. The yield currently available on bonds maturing in 2015 is 18.8%, so the yield you saw quoted is definitely not correct.

I hesitate to call my speculation in Bank or Ireland an investment. When I made my purchases I described them as bottom fishing. I have kept my positions small on a baby steps basis and am considering making an additional purchase. I aim to lighten the total position on a rally, should one occur.
