on subscriber perspectives of Myanmar:
“ Hope you are enjoying your summer. Under separate cover you may have received a questionnaire we released this week for a "Myanmar Business and Investment Survey". It is being undertaken in cooperation with the Myanmar Development Resources Institute (a new and independent think tank whose advisers provide policy advice to Myanmar President Thein Sein) and Mingalar Myanmar (a local NGO). The results will be presented to the President's office and different ministries as well donors and other entities with an interest in Myanmar.

"In the event you did not receive it, here is a link for your review: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/VIPJ65YBDZ We are trying to gain a wide range of perspectives so if you have a moment (the estimated response time is about 10 minutes) please take a look and forward your response..

"Please note it is not necessary to answer, or to be knowledgeable about, every question. All individual responses will be kept confidential by KWR and not released to any third parties. Final reporting will identify participants by profession only, e.g., "CEO/CFO", "VP - Business Development", "Analyst", "Investment Banker", " Editor" or "Attorney". A summary will be forwarded to all respondents who request a copy. To meet our deadline, please try to 2submit your response by Monday, 11:59 PM, GMT, Sept. 3, 2012.

"In addition, if you have any colleagues with a potential interest, I would be very appreciative if you could pass this on, so we can include their input as well."

Eoin Treacy's view Following a brief visit to Myanmar in 2003, my initial impression was that the country had as much potential as any of its neighbours, not least because of its abundant natural resources. Improving standards of governance were the missing ingredient but recent events suggest this may now be changing. I completed the survey in the hope of contributing to the change of perceptions evident in the administration.
