on an Asian currency ETF
"I know this has been asked previously, but wondering whether anyone knows of any Asian currency ETF or fund?"

Eoin Treacy's view Thank you for this question which I'm sure will be of interest to other subscribers. I found three instruments offering general exposure to Asian or emerging market currencies but most of these funds are either illiquid or not doing a very good job of mimicking the exchange rates concerned.

The Barclays GEMS Asia-8 ETN with a market cap of $5.75 million attempts to track the US Dollar's performance against the Chinese Yuan, Indonesian Rupee, Indian Rupee, South Korean Won, Philippine Peso, Thai Baht, Malaysian Ringgit and Taiwan Dollar. However due to liquidity factors I don't think it can be considered a viable investment vehicle.

If subscribers know of other more liquid funds tracking Asian currencies ex-Japan I would be happy to add them to the Chart Library.
