on Chart Library defaults
“I want to set 10 years as my default for viewing charts. When I click on Chart Library my favourites appear. I cannot see Chart Settings other than via individual charts. I can set 10 year views chart by chart but not as a default for all my charts. Please can you help me?”

Eoin Treacy's view Thank you for this question which may also be of interest to other subscribers. When you look at a menu in the Chart Library or in your Favourites three links appear to the right of the title. These are P&F, daily, weekly. It is not possible to change these defaults. However the Chart Library will always remember the last chart you looked at. Therefore if the last chart you looked at was a 10-year chart, you can click on the title or name of the instrument rather than one of the three links and it will draw that chart.

I would also like to draw your attention to the Chart dropdown menu located at the top of the page directly below the View/Renew Your Subscription tab. This menu contains a list of chart templates to which you can add your own. To customise a template follow these steps:

(Step 1) The first step is always to make the desired changes to the original chart. For this example, choose your instrument from the menus or the search. Click on the Charting tab in the charcoal bar above the chart. A pop up window will open. Change the time horizon of the chart using the Period dropdown menu and make any other changes you may wish.

(Step 2) Once you have completed Step 1, you will need to save your changes. To Save the template click on 'Save' in the aquamarine bar at the top of the pop up window. A box will appear where you can give it a name. Next hit OK. Your new Preset Template has now been saved.

(Step 3) How do I retrieve the template now that I have saved it? Refresh the page. Once you have refreshed the page, the new template will have been added to your list of Presets in the Chart menu. To employ this template in future, simply choose an instrument, click on the Chart dropdown menu and select the desired template.
