Chart Library Filter System Release

Eoin Treacy's view

We’d like to thank subscribers for their patience in waiting for the release of the Chart Library Filter System. We introduced it last night and you will find the Filter button next to the Search in the black menu stripe across the top of the Chart Library homepage.

I’ve created introductory videos for both the Performance Filter and the High Low Filter which illustrate the methodology of using the system. I’ll also be posting example filters in Comment of the Day over the next week and more.

Here is a picture of how the results of a Performance Filter for the FTSE-100 would look.

Sorting by 12-month performance we see that Shire Plc has been the best performer. The chart also tells us that the share is still trending reasonably consistently.

Here is a picture of how the results of a High/Low Filter of the constituents of the FTSE-100 would look.

We can quickly see, for example, that British Land has just broken out to new 5-year highs and the chart shows us that the share is still trending consistently higher.

Sorting by 3-month performance we can see that Tullow Oil has posted a negative performance over the last 3-months but has hit a new 3-month high. From this alone we know that the share has been falling but has bounced of late.
